Cybersecurity

The Cybersecurity Academy at Santaluces High Schoosupported by The Frederick A. DeLuca Foundation and the Education Foundation of Palm Beach County, offers high school students an opportunity to begin a pathway to prepare for in demand careers stressing personal accountability and the importance of taking proactive steps to enhance cybersecurity at work and at home. 

This program offers a sequence of courses that provides coherent and rigorous content aligned with challenging academic standards and relevant technical knowledge and skills needed to prepare for further education and cybersecurity-related careers.  The curriculum includes, but is not limited to, foundational knowledge and skills in computer and network security, security vulnerabilities, attack mechanisms and techniques, intrusion detection and prevention, risk identification, incidence response, access control, and recovery. 

Specialized courses focus on database security, planning and analysis, software, and web security.  Students who graduate from this program earn the skills as an Information Security Analyst and can earn a variety of different related industry certification required by potential future employers.

All students applying to this program must meet the following eligibility criteria:  2.5 GPA. Background checks may be conducted on applicants.
