Mechatronics

Build robots, design with 3-D printers, learn to code, and more as you prepare for in demand jobs in the Mechatronics Academy at West Technical Education Center (West Tech)! Mechatronics is the combination of mechanical engineering, computing, and electronics as used in the design and development of new manufacturing techniques.  Mechatronics is critically important to keeping industrial or production facilities operation systems running smoothly. The program at West Tech places a heavy emphasis on hands-on manufacturing skills & robotics production.  As you matriculate through this program you will have opportunities to earn up to four industry certifications – Pre-Engineering, Robotics, MSSC Certified Production Technicians (MSSC-CPT), and Mechatronics Fitter.  Students that earn the MSSC-CPT industry certification should be eligible for 15 credit hours towards the Florida Engineering Technology A.S./A.A.S. where the program is offered in the state. All students applying to this program must meet the following eligibility criteria: 2.0 GPA and Algebra 1 strongly recommended.
